About Us

Welcome to Willowbrook

Welcome to Willowbrook, where passion meets purpose in breeding exceptional, authentic Australian Labradoodles. We’re Jo and Lee, a husband-and-wife team dedicated to raising beautiful, allergy-friendly Labradoodles with loving, intelligent temperaments and non-shedding, wavy fleece coats.

Nestled in the heart of South Yorkshire, England, our home sits just a short walk from historic parkland — one of our favourite places to walk our dogs. Here, our puppies are raised in a calm, enriching environment, surrounded by the everyday sounds and warmth of family life.

Why Choose a Willowbrook Puppy?

At Willowbrook, we do more than breed dogs — we raise well-adjusted family companions. All our puppies are reared indoors, socialised from birth, and nurtured in a home environment full of love, laughter, and gentle structure. From the moment they’re born, they are handled, played with, and gradually introduced to the sights, sounds, and routines of daily life.

We are DEFRA-approved, veterinary inspected, and proudly hold a 5-star licence with our local authority — the highest standard in UK breeding. With over 30 years of experience, we are committed to the health, wellbeing, and happiness of every puppy we bring into the world.

Our breeding dogs undergo extensive health testing, and we work only with carefully selected, health-tested studs that meet our high standards for temperament, conformation, and genetics. Our focus is always on improving the breed while preserving its wonderful qualities: intelligence, gentleness, loyalty, and that signature “teddy bear” charm.

Our Story

My love for animals began in childhood, though I wasn’t allowed a dog growing up. My mum used to say, “You can have as many dogs as you like when you have your own house.” And so I did! I never imagined just how deeply a dog could touch your heart — or how many lives they could change for the better.

After we married and had children, it was important to us that they grew up around animals — learning responsibility, compassion, and the joy of connection. Watching our children bond with puppies created cherished memories we now share with our grandchildren. It’s a full-circle moment we treasure.

In my 30s, I also fulfilled another dream — owning a horse. Our eldest daughter took a keen interest, eventually joining the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, proudly performing ceremonial duties for the Queen. Sadly, I later developed a severe allergy to animal hair and dust, which ultimately led us to explore hypoallergenic breeds. That’s when we discovered the Australian Labradoodle — and everything changed.

The Willowbrook Difference

Our foundation girl, Jasmine, joined us in 2019 after a long search. With heritage tracing back to the original lines of Tegan Park and Rutland Manor, Jasmine embodies everything we love about this remarkable breed — affectionate, intuitive, and endlessly charming.

Australian Labradoodles are not only non-shedding and low-allergen, but they also make exceptional therapy, assistance, and family dogs. With their loving nature and remarkable intelligence, they bring joy, support, and companionship to every home they enter.

We invite you to become part of the Willowbrook family and experience the unmatched love of a genuine Australian Labradoodle — raised with heart, integrity, and a lifetime of devotion.

Our Commitment to Continuous Learning

At Willowbrook, we believe the best breeders are lifelong learners. That’s why we actively invest in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to stay up to date with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in canine health, behaviour, genetics, and welfare.

We regularly participate in certified CPD courses, workshops, and webinars covering topics such as:

  • Canine reproduction and whelping
  • Early neurological stimulation and puppy development
  • Genetic health testing and inheritance
  • Canine nutrition and gut health
  • Behavioural science and socialisation
  • Welfare and ethical breeding practices
  • Ofqual level 3 First Aid
  • National Breeders Convention

This ongoing education ensures that every decision we make is backed by current knowledge, helping us produce well-rounded, emotionally stable, and physically healthy puppies. It also supports our goal of offering lifelong support to new puppy owners — with advice that is accurate, ethical, and up to date.
